Celebrating the Life of Queen Mother Eileen Edwards

On 13th September 2025, the community of Langma will gather to honor and celebrate the life of a remarkable woman — Eileen Edwards (Naane Buenorkie 1), the beloved Development Queen Mother of Langma.

At 83, Queen Mother Eileen leaves behind a legacy not only of leadership but of love, service, and a deep commitment to her people. She was more than a title — she was a mother, a mentor, and a guiding light for many. Her presence carried both strength and grace, and her voice always echoed with wisdom rooted in tradition and community.

Her funeral, described as a Royal Transition, reflects the honor and respect she earned throughout her lifetime. Friends, family, and the Langma community will come together first at Lighthouse Chapel International (QFC), Kokrobite Branch near Omega School for her burial service, followed by a private interment at the Langma Community Cemetery. Later, her memory will be celebrated at her home, the Langma Eileen Residence Chief Palace.

While we mourn her passing, we also celebrate a life that inspired unity, development, and cultural pride. Queen Mother Eileen Edwards embodied the heart of Langma, and her legacy will live on through the many lives she touched.

Her journey reminds us that true leadership is found in service, and true royalty is found in love for one’s people.

A Tribute Poem

Your crown was not of gold,
But of wisdom, grace, and care.
Your throne was every heart you touched,
Your kingdom everywhere.

You led with love, you walked with pride,
A mother to the land.
Though now you rest, your spirit stays,
Forever close at hand.
